We are currently not able to run our usual 'Introduction to Fishing' sessions. Angling is a hands-on sport and we can’t introduce people to fishing sensibly and maintain even one metre social distancing. Think of hooking baits, checking rigs and sorting out tangles plus fish welfare issues like netting fish safely, unhooking and disgorging fish quickly and keeping fish out of snags and weeds. Running normal coaching sessions does not work with social distancing measures.
However What we can do is offer members and family group’s use of our equipment if they want to fish on our coaching Saturdays. We can provide some whips, landing nets, plummets, disgorgers, seatboxes and some bait. Families will need to use and manage the tackle for themselves. Some experience of angling will be needed. We will sanitise and quarantine the tackle at the end of your session.
Spaces around Hill Pond will be limited and you will need to book in advance to secure a peg. The first session will be Saturday the 25th July from 9 till 12 am.
Book by contacting Kevin on our junior booking line. Phone or text: Kevin Holcombe on 07704 430685.
Please state how many tackle sets you need.
